A FULL DAY OF MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID WORKSHOPS IN MACKAY!
On Friday 31st January 2025, we are hosting two back to back workshops on the topic of self injury and suicide.
* CONVERSATIONS ABOUT NON-SUICIDAL SELF INJURY 8am - 12pm
This is an adult-focussed training event promoting how adults can be effectively involved in understanding and helping those who self harm in our community.
*CONVERSATIONS ABOUT SUICIDE 1pm - 5pm
This is a training to help adults know how to talk with and intervene effectively for someone who is having suicidal thoughts.
Each course is $95 to attend (over 18 only)

Youth Mental Health First Aid Workshop
COME JOIN OUR UPCOMING YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID COURSE ON 28TH & 29TH NOVEMBER, IN MACKAY!
This 2 day course teaches participants how to provide initial support to a young person (aged 12-18) who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis. Course participants must be 18 years or older and on completion are eligible to be accredited Mental Health First Aiders with Mental Health First Aid Australia ( https://www.mhfa.com.au/)
Course is run by Garry Batt Counselling , Master Instructor for Mental Health First Aid Australia and credentialed Mental Health Nurse.

Conversations About Non-Suicidal Self Injury Course
Come join this NEW short course, Conversations About Non-Suicidal Self Injury, running 12:30-4:30pm on Thur 24th October 2024, in Mackay!
This course (accredited by Mental Health First Aid Australia) will teach participants how to provide initial support to another adult who may be engaging in non-suicidal self-injury, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
Suitable for healthcare professionals, support workers, front line workers, administration staff and others interested in being better able to support adults with mental health problems.
